VK Law is a boutique law firm dedicated to International Trade matters, covering all aspects necessary to structure import and export operations in Brazil, such as customs, logistics and supply chain issues, trade compliance and sanctions, as well as trade remedies.

Partner at VK Law since March 2024, Vera Kanas is a lawyer specialized in International Trade matters, with more than 20 years of experience. She was the head of the International Trade practice group at TozziniFreire Advogados, São Paulo, Brazil, from 2011 to 2024.

Vera assists Brazilian and foreign companies in a number of issues related to trade remedies, customs law and trade compliance. Vera has extensive experience representing Brazilian exporters, importers and producers in antidumping investigations, and in procedures related to change in tariffs. She advises clients in the relevant aspects of structuring import and export operations and their supply chain, as well as on issues related to Mercosur and other international agreements. Vera has a strong experience in matters related to the World Trade Organization, having worked in the WTO Secretariat assisted Brazilian diplomats at the Brazilian Mission for WTO Affairs (Geneva) and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Brasília), and she served as a panelist in a WTO case involving the Antidumping Agreement (DS 578). Vera is PhD in International Law from Universidade de São Paulo; she earned master’s in International Economic Law from the Université de Paris-I Pantheón-Sorbonne, France. See CV completed.
