Financial fraud is increasingly affecting the financial and capital markets, with increasing numbers and sophistication. The notable relaxation of rules relating to the Brazilian payment system, carried out by the Central Bank of Brazil in recent years, both with regard to financial market infrastructure and so-called payment arrangements, constituted a true regulatory advance. However, the risks associated with these innovations seem to require increased attention in terms of compliance. Also in the field of Investment Funds, the large amount of fraud that plagues these entities makes it imperative to review and adapt their control, verification and monitoring procedures for the assets and rights that make up the assets of the invested portfolios, as well as a careful verification of the liabilities of these Funds. The seminar will also address the importance of monitoring Compliance projects and programs, discussing the use of the Whistleblower channel, development of metrics and KPI’s, and the necessary adjustments to achieve standards of excellence and recognition, both on the national scene, as well as Pro Ethics, as well as international rankings and certifications.
